What is Professor Profit's Universe?

Answer: You will frequently hear us refer to Professor Profit's Universe of Desirable Stocks. It is a database of about 200 stocks which we regularly monitor for activity. Professor Profit's Universe is our sole and exclusive source for stock candidates to add to Professor Profit's Portfolio.

How are stocks selected for Professor Profit's Universe?

Answer: Most have been selected because they are stocks we would like to own. Others were selected due to their cyclical price movements, or just because we are interested in including them (Example: We include Microsoft because we just feel like we need to keep an eye on it).

How are the stocks in Professor Profit's Universe monitored?

Answer: Every Sunday, after we have determined Market Direction, we update the Universe with Friday's closing price for each stock. Then for each stock, the moving averages are recalculated, and we look for Buy, Sell, Short, and Cover Configuration signals (you'll read about Configuration signals if you follow the tutorial).
